How does Energy Art come alive? Il Giornale d'Italia. 17.11.2025.

Survilo (painter): “I paint when my energy is clean. I would like visitors, when standing in front of my works, to pause and feel their own emotions.”

Painter Lauma Survilo was interviewed by Il Giornale d’Italia ahead of the second edition of Portal Series ’25, where she explored the connection between energy and her art.

* How did the union between art and energy began?

The union between art and energy began very recently, on January 1st, 2025. I woke up at the beginning of the new year and felt intuitively guided to return to painting.

After a decade-long pause, I brought together fifteen years of academic art training with nearly two decades of energy work - including holistic practices, meditation, studies of awareness and consciousness, as well as physical detoxes.

In order to sustain higher frequencies, the body needs to release both physical and energetic blockages. In a way, I believe this was the turning point - the result of a cumulative effect.

*How are your works created?

Before painting, I take time to prepare both the physical environment and my own energy, in order to reach a state of receptivity and calm. I need to be free from stress, without resistance, and fully present in the moment.

I also make sure that I am well rested and that I’ve done a digital detox - anything that could disturb the energetic flow needs to be switched off. I follow a specific diet as well. Then I enter a meditative state to open myself to subtler energies.

Once I reach this state, I feel a subtle inner guidance that invites me to use specific colors and patterns in the painting. I continue painting for as long as I feel connected to that particular flow. Sometimes it presents itself as a very powerful current, other times it is much more subtle.

I would say that after each painting session, I feel as if I’ve done three gym workouts. What happens when we invite higher energies than we’re used to? They function like electrical cables, right? When stronger electricity passes through them, they get tired - so the body truly needs to be prepared for that.

*How much does the surrounding environment influence your work?

I would say a lot, even the people I meet before painting have an influence.

First of all, I try to minimize any physical contact before I paint. I choose to connect only with nature and avoid social media, because what we take in is very important. The environment itself must have good energy: clean air and physical cleanliness are essential.

Having nature around is wonderful. The temperature also needs to be moderate to support the body’s natural state - not too cold, not too hot, but balanced. If I’m painting indoors, I usually add high-frequency music in the background.

When I paint outdoors, instead, I feel most aligned with the sounds of birds and nature.

*In what way are your works energetic portals?

This is a beautiful question. We often hear stories about artists who, while depressed or under the influence of certain substances, create a painting and then say they feel lighter afterwards.

What we don’t always pay enough attention to is that the emotional and energetic state of the artist while painting is reflected energetically in the artwork itself. So if a client buys a painting from a depressed artist, they are also bringing the energy of that depression into their home.

In my case, after many years of practice, I’ve reached a level of sensitivity that allows me to paint only when my energy is at its cleanest - when I am calm, balanced, and in harmony.

In this way, I can be certain that the viewer or collector receives an artwork that influences them positively. The method is called channeling higher frequency universal energies. Once I access these frequencies, I transmit them into the artwork.

Some viewers and collectors have experienced very deep emotions. For example, one woman began to cry for a full ten minutes while standing in front of one of the works. It was incredibly moving to witness and to be able to facilitate that experience for her. She later described the sensation as a profound release and said she felt an immense peace afterwards - something she had been longing for for a long time. That was one of the first signs that something truly deep was happening. And then there were others.

Another client of a custom-made painting described the energy she received as waves flowing through her - first as a purification, and then as a revelation of the depths of her heart. She shared that she uses the painting to support her inner healing journey.

Many others have experienced deep emotional responses simply by standing in front of the works - by observing the portals themselves.

*How do you envision the relationship between visitors and the artworks?

I would invite visitors to take a moment to create a direct relationship with the artwork and to notice the emotions that arise.

To enter into a kind of 1-to-1 experience - a moment of full presence in which they allow themselves to feel whatever emotions emerge. Even emotions of resistance can reveal something that may be out of balance within our inner body. Or perhaps we feel inspiration, encouragement.

This process can support the inner dialogue we have with ourselves. It’s important to experience emotions and allow ourselves to truly feel them.

In today’s world, we live in such an automatic way - always rushing, so that sensations and emotions are pushed into the background. And it is precisely there that physical issues often begin.
